The Balladeer: Daniel W. Bates
Dan Bates is a Red Sox Fan with a Muse and a Thesaurus, who’s written a number of sports ballads. Inspired by the rampant euphoria all over Red Sox Nation at the instant of its team’s 2004 World Series victory, the author immediately put pen to paper. Dan Bates is an employment lawyer living in Gardiner, Maine, with his wife and sons.
The Troubador: Gary Crocker
Gary Crocker is a genuine Maine Character with a lifelong love for the Red Sox since his first visit to Fenway in ’58 as a Little Leaguer from North Monmouth, Maine. After growing upsome, he was part of the Navy crew that lifted Celtics parquet for Bruins ice at the Garden. In per-forming the Ballad, he tells, in the voice of the Downeast Character for which he’s deservedly famous and loved, how the Boston Red Sox wrote, by Deed and Noble Heart, the Most Magical Sports Story of All Time, in 2004.
